  1. 1. Capitalization is when a word is capitalized at the beginning of a sentence or names of books; or due to a certain property such as in quotations or names of nouns and places, as well as in abbreviations and proper adjectives.
    2. The purpose in writing clearly with capitalization is that it points out proper nouns and places, it also pints out the beginning of a new sentence or a new quotation, not only that but it also shows an abbreviation. This is needed because those words can be confused by something else that is not a noun.
    3. When this is not used correctly then words such as “Earth”. The name of the planet Earth can be mistaken as the name for dirt. Thus instead of addressing the planet it would address soil. Also it wouldn’t point out when certain things are addressed. If we say “We visited the northwest” Then it is incorrect it’s supposed to be “We visited the Northwest” since we are addressing that part of the state.
    4. The most common errors in capitalization are when people forget to capitalize names and also certain nouns, such as “Earth”. This creates confusion because what is being addressed is completely different.
    5. “In Nectar in a Sieve by Kamala Markandaya The character Raja became guilty.”
“This quote is relevant in the novels The Handmaid’s Tale and Animal farm.”
“Verb Tense is a very important factor in writing.”
“The earth has only one moon.”
“mr. jones is an evil man.”
    6. The first example basically I lowercased the t since it is not a noun or its not beginning a new sentence.
The second example the word “farm” has to be upper case since it is the title of a book and it is not a preposition.
The third example is capitalizing the word “Tense” but since it is not a proper noun then it is not supposed to be capitalized.
The Fourth example had the word “earth” which is referring to the planet not soil. So it has to be capitalized since it is a noun.
The Fifth example had the name and abbreviation “mr. jones” These have to be capitalized since they are a name and an abbreviation or title.
